About
Willie Nelson is one of the most successful country music singer-songwriters in history, releasing 68 studio albums and 10 live albums. He wrote his first song at the age of seven and joined his first band at ten, playing concerts as a lead singer and guitar player while still in high school. He spent the ‘50s and ‘60s writing songs for established acts such as Ray Price and Patsy Cline, as well as releasing a string of albums on Liberty and RCA beginning with his debut …And Then I Wrote in 1962. In 1973, he signed to Atlantic Records and put out Shotgun Willie, which veered into outlaw country, a stark contrast from the mainstream Nashville sound and clean-cut country artists of the era. 1975’s Red Headed Stranger and 1978’s Stardust followed on Columbia Records, both garnering commercial and critical success. The ‘80s saw the release of No. 1 albums Honeysuckle Rose, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, Always on My Mind, and The Promiseland, as well as Nelson joining Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson in the country supergroup The Highwaymen, touring and releasing three studio albums between 1985 and 1995. Nelson continues to release a new album almost every year and delight ticket buyers in live shows to this day.

Rating: 4 out of 5 Willie was GREAT!!
by YASheffield on 7/15/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenThe whole concert was fabulous, except Bob Dylan. Not sure WHY the lights were dimmed … could barely see him, much less hear him. A snoozer. I was looking forward to hearing him so it was disappointing. Thoroughly enjoyed Celisse, Mavis ( both rocked it), Plant/Krauss and, then, Willie and band/fam at the end.
Rating: 4 out of 5 Dylan should hang it up!
by EDC on 7/10/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenThe overall show was great, and the venue is nice. Willie was great; strong voice, and good rapport with the audience. You'd never know he had been sick. Marin Morris, Robert Plant & Alison Krause were also great. Bob Dylan, on the other hand, should call it quits! I've seen him about 20 times, and the last few times I saw him I said I wouldn't go see him again. His songs are almost un-identifiable because he refuses to play them like the original. Plus, he rarely plays songs that the audience wants to hear. And he has absolutely no rapport with the audience.
Rating: 3 out of 5 Willies Picnic
by Tedesez on 7/10/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenI could not think of a better way to spend my 4 th of July. It was a beautiful day. Willie was awesome and his son Luke Nelson was very good! The other acts were good to see as well but I went to see the last of the Country Outlaws! Great time! Staff of the venue were nice and helpful. Good vibes and alot of smoke in the air!
Rating: 4 out of 5 Great time but...
by Mike on 7/9/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenThe Forth of July Picnic concert was great with Willie Nelson. Except for the high temp and humidity we had a good time. The Maren Morris segment had the sound cranked up too much; the sound board staff did not do a good job. The other performers had it much better. Parking fee is outrageous with $50 near the venue, $40 two blocks away, all manged by Live Nation. How much goes to cash strapped Camden? Probably very little, with most going to Live Nation so that Mike Rapino can get another outsized bonus. It really makes one think twice about going again.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Legends +
by Kari on 7/9/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenWow, what a day to spend the 4th. American legends and exciting new artists. Willie and his son were so touching 💕
Rating: 5 out of 5 Willie was awesome
by NLOG on 7/8/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenWillie Nelson was awesome as usual. Hard to believe he's 91. Loved the show and really enjoyed listening to him and especially his son Lukas. Have seen Willie many times but this was our first time seeing the other performers and we enjoyed the entire show immensely. Great value on the music, not so much on the chair rentals which we think was excessive.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Amazing Show, but inadequate access to water refills
by Ibpde on 7/8/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenThe show was fantastic! However, the venue needs to improve the water refill stations; only two fountains were functioning which was insufficient on such a smoldering hot day!
Rating: 5 out of 5 It was a great day of music
by Dancer on 7/8/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenIt was hot but the music took that all away a long day of groups it gave me my money's worth wish Dylan would have done more of his older stuff Plant's set was what the audience wanted everyone stood up when Willy took the stage Willy would have never of missed his picnic
Rating: 4 out of 5 Willie was great
by Jason on 7/7/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenToo hot. Seats are so close together and there are no cup holders. Not looking for A/C but more fans would’ve been great. It was 98 degrees. Making us pour our beers in a plastic cup because someone threw a beer at Taylor Swift was ridiculous. It becomes flat and doesn’t stay cold.
Rating: 4 out of 5 Little to late
by Tommcl on 7/7/24Freedom Mortgage Pavilion - CamdenTough to be in the heat all day to have Willie come out at 10pmHe is Great and a National Treasure but his audience is Not 11pm people
